Time-Based Oracle Database Tuning:
Essential Techniques for DBA’s

(Seats are still available -- register at the door)

In Oracle Database 10g a new time model was introduced to facilitate database tuning. This model enables a simple yet effective tuning method that is now Oracle’s standard for database tuning. At the core of this method is a metric, db time, which measures time spent by the database in servicing user calls. In this presentation, we will describe the new tuning method, what db time is and explain how it should be used for tuning all types of performance issues.
